The purpose of this blog is to share my love of books. I want to write about the books that I’m reading, and books that I’ve read and loved in the past. I read for pleasure, and my choice of books is dictated by my mood and the things I’m thinking about and interested in, at any point of time. While I do read some new releases, most of the books I pick up are ones that came out years, if not decades ago. You’ll find plenty of book recommendations here. Just don’t expect them all to be current.
I read what I like, so if a book does not capture my interest, I either give up on it or I put it aside to try again later. I don’t feel compelled to finish a book, just because I started reading it. So, you won’t find any bad reviews here. If I write about a book, it will be because I loved it. I will, of course, point out any flaws and disappointments in a book that I loved overall, but I’m not going to waste my time reading a book that I don’t like and then writing a searing review of it. I’ll leave that to the poor literary critics who don’t get to choose what they read.
If there’s a film or a podcast related to, or based on a book that I’ve reviewed, I might write about that as well. I will also share book-related trivia and write about writers, their lives, and their process. Most of this information will be drawn from other sources which I will credit appropriately.
